Raku Pottery
Raku is birthed in a fiery explosion of extremes that many pieces shatter. The life of a Raku pot begins in a blazing furnace 2000 Fehrenheit. Then, each dangerously hot piece is pulled from the kiln and plunged ito a pit of wood and paper, instantly igniting a raging inferno. Overnight they smolder. Those that survive wear the radiant flashes of color only Raku creates.
The potter, the earth and flames shape the pot, the way life shapes us. If you can survive this trail by fire, you too become strong, beautiful and " one of a kind"
